Went to Wood Neck after work with Ruth for about an hour. Wind was pretty nice, but gusty. Rob, Hanu, and Tad were leaving just as I was setting up. One other guy (decent beginner rider) was out there with me, and he was having fun just getting and staying upwind, so I had the shorebreak to myself. Did some big jumps off waves, but wasn’t landing them. I also did a couple really clean backflips off of small waves and stuck the landing. Had a solid session. Lost my board a few times going really fast, hitting some rogue chop, and exploding, but getting your board back with those bow kites is so easy. Forget body dragging, just depower the kite completely and swim a few strokes back to it! What looked like a mega-storm was blowing in across Buzzards Bay, so I “landed” (Hindenburg) the kite. Turned out to just be a really dense wave of fog. Ben and Katrina showed up, packed up the gear, and then hung out at the beach for a little while. I don’t really like how the waves line up (or lack thereof) at Wood Neck.
