I’m pretty sure I was still drunk when I woke up this morning. The hangover of the century soon followed. But Ben and Trina wanted to go to the beach, so we went to Chappy. Upon arrival, it was wiiiiindy! So I drove back home and got my gear, even though I felt horrible. Ended up having a fantastic time. Note to self: kiting makes hangovers instantly disappear.

I did some huge boosts off waves, probably the biggest ones I’ve ever done, and unlike yesterday, I landed just about all of them. Most of the landings were nice and soft, too! The wind was the perfect speed where I had tons of power, but wasn’t uncomfortably overpowered. Bow kite probably helped in that department. I could stay upwind without even edging, and could fly upwind if I edged. It was really bumpy though, so most of the time, I just had the kite at like 1 or 2 o’clock, and cruised around real slow. If I saw a wave that looked decent, I could gain a little speed, pull the trigger, and get huge air. I was also carving up waves pretty good. This is the first time I’ve been in decent, lined up waves since getting good at carving turns. By the end of the session, I was making some nice top and bottom turns, and keeping the kite happy as well. Tried one backflip and didn’t land it very cleanly…I was way too tired for that bullshit. Lots of jellyfish too, so I didn’t want to be spending too much time in the water chasing down my board.
