Went to Wood Neck this evening after work, and had a solid session. There were four other kiters, but all of them had sailed down to Black’s for some reason. Why would you do that? The wind usually dies down as the evening progresses, so why would you immediately sail downwind from the parking lot, ensuring yourself a long walk back?
Anyways, I didn’t care because I had Wood Neck all to myself until Nick showed up on his windsurfer. I did a few very big boosts, a few backrolls, and learned how to do some small grabs. Grabs aren’t that hard, it turns out, just put your non-grab hand close to the chicken line, whip the kite up, grab with your back hand, and pull on the bar with the non-grab hand.
