Went to Chapin this evening, because it had been blowing in the mid-20’s there all day. When I arrived, however, the wind had dropped for some reason. We all rigged big or at maximum power, and of course, when we all launched, the wind picked up again. iWindsurf says it was in the mid 20’s gusting to low 30’s, but it felt like the sustained winds were much higher. I was seriously overpowered on my Waroo, but sometimes being overpowered in the waves isn’t a bad thing. I was tearin it up in the shorebreak, and did a few little jumps here and there. Overall, a pretty good session, although I wish I’d have rigged on a lower knot or even better, put up Ed’s 7.
